Start extinguishing from upwind. Place the AJ-FFP: nozzle inside the nozzle opening 10-15 cm ( 4-6"). Open the valve fully open. During extinguishing, the firefighter holds the valve end of the AJ-FFP. The assisting firefighter holds the fire hose approx. 2-3 m ( 12-15 ft) from the end and assists the easy movement of the AJ-FFP.
After opening the valve, start rapidly pushing the AJ-FFP into the corner inside the fire until the space runs out or the rod is completely inside the fire. Pull the AJ-FFP back to the starting point and push again to the other corner of the fire target. Repeat until the fire is out and the color of the smoke has changed to steam.
When you are sure that the fire has been extinguished in the first room, or you see that it makes sense to move to the next room to be extinguished, close the valve and let the AJ-FFP drain the water through the discharge opening of the valve. Go to the next room space.
After the active phase of the fire is over, the AJ-FFP is a very popular tool for post-extinguishing. AJ-FFP significantly saves on scraping. This is also why it is good to reserve an extra hose.
